UEFA postpones Israel’s Kosovo 2024 qualifier as travel ban keeps players on home soil

October 12 – UEFA has confirmed that the Euro 2024 qualifier between Kosovo and Israel has been postponed because of travel restrictions for Israeli national teams.

“UEFA today announced that the 2024 European Qualifiers’ match between Kosovo and Israel scheduled for 15 October has been postponed, as the Israeli authorities currently do not allow their national team to travel abroad,” said a statement from the European governing body, adding that “a new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.”

UEFA had already postponed all matches scheduled in Israel including the Euro 2024 qualifier between Israel and Switzerland.

After six matches Israel sit in third place in their group, a point behind Romania and three behind Switzerland with four games to play. The top two teams qualify for Euro 2024.

Since the start of the conflict, Gaza authorities say more than 1,300 people have been killed in the bombing by Israel in response to Hamas’ unprecedented attack that took the lives of 1,200 people.
