UEFA shifts Israel’s Euro qualifiers to outside November international window

October 24 – Israel’s men and women national teams have had their fixtures rearranged, with clubs expected to release players outside the international window.

Four matches have been rescheduled for November after UEFA postponed all matches scheduled in the country earlier this month due to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The rescheduled games will be played as close as possible to the existing November international windows.

The Kosovov v Israel and Israel v Switzerland Euro 2024 Group I qualifiers will now take place on November 12 and November 15 respectively.

Israel’s away game against Kazakhstan in the Women’s Nations League has been rescheduled to November 23 and the reverse fixture will be played on November 26.

At the request of UEFA, FIFA has also approved an exception regarding the mandatory release of players for the rescheduled matches.

“The obligation to release players will be limited to a maximum of one player per club not affiliated to one of the associations involved in the matches and the release will be due only two days prior to the matches in question, based on a special FIFA decision motivated by the exceptional circumstances, as no dates could be found in the November international windows,” a statement said.
