UEFA names EA Sports FC as platform for eEURO 2024 tournament

December 12 – UEFA has announced that EA Sports FC, the flagship football video game produced by EA SPORTS, will be the official platform for the UEFA eEURO 2024 tournament.

The tournament will see eight finalists compete for a $100,000 prize pot in July in the finals that will be played in parallel to the Euro 2024 finals in Germany.

More than 50 UEFA national teams have confirmed to participate, the UEFA eEURO 2024 tournament debuts as one of the largest football Esports competitions and adds a new face to the already growing gaming industry.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said: “Our partnership with EA SPORTS FC offers a significant opportunity for UEFA esports, using the world’s largest football video game platform to host UEFA eEURO 2024. In this new edition of the competition, the large number of national associations that have signed up is proof of their continued interest in this competition, which provides the opportunity to engage with existing and new audiences. UEFA invites fans and gamers alike to be part of this exciting fusion of football passion and the innovative world of esports.”

The tournament is set to kick off in March, starting with the online qualifiers. Each participating nation will qualify their own national team representative.
