Lusail Stadium

The Lusail Stadium is the largest stadium in Qatar and was built for the 2022 World Cup, staging the final.

Capacity: 88,000
Location: Doha
Matches: First group match (including the opening ceremony), Final.

The design of the outer structure calls up the sails of a traditional dhow boat and the inner structure the ancient craft of bowl weaving. Construction began in April 2017.

The stadium is said to embody Qatar’s ambition and its passion for sharing West Asia with the world.

It will once again be a focus of the football world hosting defending 2019 champions Qatar and Lebanon in Group A on January 12, and the 2023 final on February 10.

It will be the third largest venue to host the venue to host Asian Cup matches behind Tehran’s Aryamehr Stadium, which seated 100,000 spectators during the 1976 final between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Kuwait, and the 88,083-capacity Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta that hosted seven matches in 2007.
