The Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, greater Los Angeles, opened the tournament with a triple header of play-in matches on February 17, followed three days later by the opening of the tournament proper and the USA’s opening game.
The 25,174-capcaity Dignity Health Sports Park stadium has a strong soccer history and is the home of the LA Galaxy in the MLS. The complex is the national team training headquarters for the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and has been used on many occasions between 2004 and 2016 for US friendly internationals.
All the US’s group A, W Gold Cup 2024 games will be played there.
It is the second largest soccer specific stadium in the US and hosted the 2003 Women’s World Cup final as well as the 2003 MLS All-star game and the MLS Cup in 2003, 2004, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2014.
On July 30, 2016 the stadium hosted the International Champions Cup match between Paris Saint-Germaine and Leicester City. In 2020 the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic play-offs were played at the stadium as was the SheBelieves Cup in 2022.
The sports complex also houses the 8,000 seat Dignity Health Park tennis stadium, a track the 2,450 Velo Sports centre velodrome and a track and field facility that has 2,000 permanent seats that can be expanded to 20,000.
It was originally developed as the Home Depot centre opening in 2003 then renamed in June 1, 2013 as the Stubhub Centre. The stadium became the Dignity Health Sports Park in 2019 following a new naming rights agreement with Dignity Health.
In 2017 the stadium was renovated to accommodate the LA Chargers of the NFL who played there from 2017 to 2019. Afterwards the San Diego State Aztecs football team played at the stadium temporarily in 2020 and 2021.
