UEFA tunes up for Euro 2024

May 13 – Italian electronic trio Meduza and Grammy nominees OneRepublic have teamed up with German singer-songwriter Leony to unveil the official song of UEFA Euro 2024, titled ‘Fire’.

Available on all streaming platforms, the anthem will be performed live by the three artists during the closing ceremony before the kick-off of the final at the Olympiastadion Berlin on July 14.

Meduza, who produced the song, have also compiled a series of audio cues for TV sequences and stadium walk-outs to connect fans with the tournament’s signature anthem.

Philipp Lahm, UEFA Euro 2024 tournament director and former captain of the German national team, said: “Football and music both have the power to unite people. When I think of UEFA Euro 1996, I have Football’s Coming Home in my head. At UEFA Euro 2024, we want to celebrate Europe’s diversity and strengthen the feeling of togetherness. Good sport and beautiful music should carry us through the summer – with the Euro song FIRE.”

The official UEFA Euro 2024 playlist is now available on streaming platforms, with weekly updates and takeovers to come as UEFA look to provide a ‘dynamic and immersive’ musical backdrop to the tournament, which kicks off on June 15 Munich.

Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic added: “We wrote Fire for football and music fans everywhere, hoping it will inspire and unite us as we count down to Euro 2024. The #LightYourFire campaign is an invitation to fans worldwide to join us on this journey.”
