Sportradar AI simulation predicts England to win Euro 2024 and Mbappe to top score

June 6 – According to a series of AI–driven data simulations conducted by sports technology company Sportradar, England is the team most likely to win the UEFA Euro 2024 on July 14, even with Harry Maguire in the squad.

The study, which utilised Sportradar’s AI technology to complete 10,000 simulations for each of the 51 matches in this summer’s tournament, shows the Three Lions edge out France for the title, revealing a 24% probability that they emerge as the winner.

The data shows that Gareth Southgate is the favourite to claim his first trophy in July, as England’s 2,400 wins across 10,000 simulations leads France (1,806 times), Germany (1,518 times), Portugal (1,047 times) and Spain (927) times.

At the other end of the spectrum, Scotland was amongst the teams least likely to win the competition. The AI selected Scotland to win the competition less than 100 times out of 10,000. Meanwhile Romania, Albania, Slovenia, Georgia and Slovakia were identified as tournament winners the fewest times – in the range of a one-in-a-million chance.

Meanwhile, newly-announced Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe is tipped to become top scorer for this summer’s tournament after winning the Golden Boot 1,519 times out of the 10,000 simulations generated, closely followed by England captain Harry Kane with 1,477.

Both players enjoyed fruitful seasons at PSG and FC Bayern, tallying 54 and 56 goal involvements respectively across all competitions.

The Frenchman is ten goals shy of Olivier Giroud’s 57 goals for France – a tally which is destined to be usurped by Mbappe as the 25-year-old’s glistening career continues.

The study predicted it would take a tally of six goals to take home the golden boot this summer – a tally which feels very achievable given the talent on display.

Leveraging betting insights from its global network of 900 sportsbook operators, Sportradar inputted tens of thousands of data points into its AI-powered algorithm to create the most accurate prediction possible.
