Poland

Poland arrive at Euro 2025 as one of the tournament’s most emotional and inspiring debut stories. Their playoff triumph over Austria in December to reach their first-ever major tournament was punctuated by raw celebration – a sign of the emotion they will bring to this summer’s festivities.

What to Expect

Poland are unbeaten in over a year, a run that reflects growing cohesion and confidence. However, their Nations League campaign was contested in League B, meaning they’ve yet to face Europe’s elite under pressure. However, consistency breeds momentum, and Poland are arriving in Switzerland with self-belief and momentum.

While not favourites in a very tricky group – alongside Sweden, Denmark and Germany in Group C – Poland could well prove disruptive and harder to break down than many expect.

Under coach Nina Patalon, this team has forged an identity rooted in unity, hard work, and a fierce competitive spirit.

Star Player

Ewa Pajor
A veteran at just 28, Ewa Pajor is the heartbeat of this Polish team. The prolific forward moved from Wolfsburg to Barcelona last summer and immediately delivered, finishing as Liga F’s top scorer while lifting the league and domestic cup.

Though a fifth Champions League final defeat is sure to sting, Pajor’s clinical edge and attacking leadership are central to Poland’s hopes. With more than 100 caps for Poland and 43 goals this season alone, she is in the Ballon d’Or conversation – and the Euros copuld strengthen her case.

Coach

Nina Patalon

Nina Patalon has already made history multiple times. The first woman to coach any Polish senior national team, she also holds the distinction of being the first Polish woman to earn a UEFA Pro Licence. Her coaching journey has taken her through Poland’s youth ranks – U15s, U17s, U19s – before taking over the senior side in 2021.

Since then, she has been not just a coach but a driving force in the development of women’s football in Poland, serving simultaneously as the Polish FA’s coordinator of women’s football training. Known for her detailed preparation and emotional intelligence, she has created a culture of togetherness that reflects on the pitch.
