Houston’s NRG Stadium is set to become the epicentre of North American soccer this summer, hosting the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final on July 6, 2025. This marks the first time the Gold Cup Final will be played in Texas, highlighting NRG Stadium’s growing prominence in international soccer. Houston stands out as the only city with two stadiums , the NRG Stadium and Shell Energy Stadium, selected to host matches, underscoring the city’s significance in the tournament.

Looking ahead, NRG Stadium is also preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where it will host seven matches, including a Round of 16 game on July 4, 2026. In preparation, the stadium is undergoing significant upgrades, such as replacing artificial turf with natural grass and modifying the field to meet FIFA standards

Beyond the matches, Houston’s East Downtown (EaDo) neighborhood will serve as the central hub for the 2026 World Cup Fan Fest, offering live match viewings, international cuisine, entertainment, and youth soccer activities.
