March 18 – If you’re good enough, you’re old enough has always been an adage of football – and Gotham FC, of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), certainly embrace that because in the 87th minute of their season opener against Seattle Reign, head coach Juan Carlos Amoros sent on 14-year-old Mak Whitham (pictured), who became the youngest player in NWSL history.

Bayern’s Olise tops list of world’s best attacking players

March 13 – Michael Olise has been named the best-performing attacking player in world football, according to the latest CIES Football Observatory study. The Bayern Munich winger, who joined from Crystal Palace last summer in a €53million deal, leads the rankings ahead of teenage sensations Lamine Yamal and Florian Wirtz.

FIFA lifts financial restrictions on Bangladesh Football Federation

March 13 – After six years of financial restrictions, FIFA has finally given the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) full access to its funds, lifting the controls that had been in place since 2018.

The decision, confirmed in a letter from FIFA on March 7, means the BFF will now receive grants in standard instalments and be eligible for a wider range of FIFA development programmes.
