September 19 – Two of French football’s heavyweights are joining forces – one on the pitch, the other on the console. Paris Saint-Germain, off the back of a stunning UEFA Champions League winning campaign, have struck a partnership with esports powerhouse Team Vitality, the most successful EA FC organisation in French gaming.
September 12 – Serie A club Juventus have announced the start of a new partnership with gaming platform Football Exchange, which will see it join the club’s family of Official Partners.
September 12 – Christmas has come early for gamers with the long-awaited announcement that Football Manager 26 will launch worldwide on November 4.
September 8 – Electronic Arts, producer of the hit FC football simulator game series, has extended its partnership with MLS Club New York City FC in a deal that will see the company’s EA Sports branch continue as an official club partner.
September 2 – Having conducted the draw at the end of last week, UEFA has now launched the new season of its Champions League Fantasy Football game with former Manchester City and England star turned broadcast pundit Micah Richards fronting the launch film and participating with his own team throughout the season.
August 31 – EA Sports FC, the Electronic Arts-owned video game, has further reinforced its dominant position in football gaming with a series of new and renewed license renewals and an increased focus on the women’s game.
May 23 – Rematch, a new video gaming football title is set to launch June 19, offering an alternative take on the genre with a third-person, player-controlled format that is based on stripped-back, skill-based gameplay.
March 11 – Franz Beckenbauer is set to make his long-awaited return to Football Ultimate Team, joining the ICON ranks in EA Sports FC for the first time. His posthumous comeback follows in the footsteps of Diego Maradona, whose likeness was recently reinstated in the game after a three-year legal battle.
February 4 – EA Sports, developer of sports-sim games FC25 and College Football 25, is making a major move to enhance its football gaming realism by acquiring TRACAB Technologies – a leader in optical tracking and real-time data analysis.
