July 2 – Having looked like a team that were struggling to find any cohesion or common purpose after four straight losses, including a miserable performance in March at the Concacaf Nations League final, suddenly the USA look as though, if not the real deal, they are certainly worth a reappraisal.
June 13 – Mexico approach the 2025 Gold Cup with typical confidence, having secured early silverware through March’s Concacaf Nations League triumph – a psychological boost that sets them up beautifully for the right to be called Kings of the Region.
June 9 – The Gold Cup kicks off next Saturday at the SoFi Stadium with the tournament providing the last real competitive chance for the already qualified hosts – Canada, Mexico and USA – to test their 2026 World Cup preparations. At the weekend there were mixed fortunes for all three in pre-Gold Cup friendlies against European opposition.
