Denmark’s Møller facing domestic fury for voting to allow Russia into Euro youth comps

October 4 – Danish FA (DBU) president Jesper Møller (pictured) has defended UEFA’s decision to let Russian U-17 national teams re-enter European competitions, refusing to disclose how he voted but opening the door to Danish teams playing Russia at youth level.

October 4 – Arsenal Women have broken the Barclays Women’s Super League attendance record for the second season, as 54,115 fans entered the gates at the Emirates Stadium to watch the team’s league opener versus Liverpool on Sunday.

Ukraine calls for boycotts of U17 Euros after door opened for re-entry of Russian teams

September 28 – The anticipated backlash against UEFA’s decision to re-instate Russian under-17 teams into its international tournaments has started with Ukraine saying it will boycott any European youth competition that includes Russia and other countries lending their support.

UEFA moves to return U17 Russian teams to European competition

September 27 – In a move likely to cause consternation among some of its members, UEFA has decided to end its blanket ban on Russian teams by allowing the country’s under-17 sides into its competitions from this season.

Kosovan FA says UEFA’s Romania sanction should be harder and sets a bad example

September 22 – The Football Association of Kosovo (FFK) has reacted strongly to UEFA’s decision to punish the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) with a fine of €52,000 and one match to be played in front of empty stands, saying the sanction should be greater.

September 21 – UEFA have punished the Romanian FA with an order to play its next home European Championship qualifier behind closed doors because of pro-Serbia chants by fans during a recent fixture with Kosovo.

UEFA monitors status of Nagorno-Karabakh region ahead of Qarabag Europa League opener

September 20 – UEFA says it is “monitoring the situation and is in close contact” with Azerbaijan authorities in case matches are affected by the historic territorial conflict with Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region which has just flared up again.

September 19 – UEFA president Alexander Ceferin believes it would be harsh if Spanish justice prosecutes Luis Rubiales (pictured) over the ‘kissgate’ scandal but has re-iterated that what the former Spanish FA (RFEF) boss did was totally wrong.

September 14 – UEFA has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the Croatian Football Association (HNS) following racist and discriminatory incidents at the Euro 2024 qualification match between Croatia and Latvia, which was played at the HNK Rijeka stadium.
