Levski Sofia unveils plans for €120m new stadium

April 28 – Bulgaria’s Levski Sofia, in partnership with the architectural and engineering firm IPA, has unveiled the concept for a brand-new Georgi Asparuhov stadium. The reveal was made by club president Nasko Sirakov, new owner Atanas Bostandzhiev, and IPA managing director Arch. Tsvetan Petrov.

CAF raises prize money for club competitions

April 28 – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a significant upgrade to its prize money pot across its men’s club competitions, with the winners of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League now set to receive $6 million and the CAF Confederation Cup champions $4 million.

Plovdiv clubs unite to demand rent freeze

April 28 – In an unprecedented show of unity, Plovdiv’s two major football rivals, PFC Botev and PFC Lokomotiv, have submitted a joint proposal to the Mayor and the Municipal Council demanding long-term, rent-free use of their respective stadiums.
