June 6 – The Kenya Football Federation (KFF) has turned to one of Africa’s best-known football journalists to help promote and market them overseas.

Tunde Adelakun (pictured above, right), who publishes the highly respected New Africa Soccer magazine, has been appointed as director of international development.

Adelakun will be charged with raising the federation’s profile abroad, as well as the exploration of revenue-generating avenues through securing sponsorships and organising international friendlies for the national team.

“We believe that Tunde will use his vast experience in football to bring professionalism to our federation, he will also streamline our players’ transfers internationally,” said KFF national executive member, Tom Onyango Alila.

Adelakun, of Nigerian origin, was raised in the United Kingdom and is one of the most recognisable figures in the international football media.

He is based in Northampton.

Among his previous roles was assisting with England’s 2018 World Cup bid and working as a consultant to the Nigerian Football Association.
