July 7 – As well as being without their two best players, the injured Neymar and suspended skipper Thiago Silva, Brazil will also be missing their communications chief Rodrigo Paiva (pictured) at Tuesday’s World Cup semi-final against Germany.
Paiva has been suspended from the rest of the tournament following the altercation he had in the tunnel at halftime during Brazil’s last-16 win over Chile when he reportedly clashed with Chilean substitute Mauricio Pinilla.
FIFA have confirmed that Paiva has been suspended for four matches, with one suspended for two years, and fined Sfr10,000 ($11,200).
Paiva has already served a one-match match absence during Brazil’s quarter-final victory over Colombia but now must miss Tuesday’s semi-final in Belo Horizonte plus the final or third place play-off.
