Man Utd turn on the power with new Yanmar deal

March 3 – It appear Manchester United fans like motor vehicles and the club likes motor manufacturers as global sponsors. Chevrolet are the club’s shirt sponsor, and sit alongside Japanese industrial Yanmar who have extended their deal to become the club’s first Agricultural Vehicles Partner.

Footballing legend and Man Utd Club Ambassador Dwight Yorke helped unveil the partnership extension at the first Manchester United and Yanmar dual branded tractor at an event in Bangkok, Thailand. No figure was announced for the deal.

Yanmar has a strong market share for agricultural vehicles in south-east Asia and first sponsored Man Utd locally in 2012.

Yanmar Holdings Sports Marketing Group General Manager, Ken Araki said: “Thailand is the most important market for Yanmar and the best way to deliver our strong message to make people’s lives more affluent in Thailand is to collaborate with Manchester United.

“Today, as a result of our discussion over two years, we are finally able to announce the Manchester United collaboration tractor.”

With the sponsorship expanded to UK and other global markets Yanmar’s marketing package now includes the club’s matchday digital marketing boards as well as B2B networking opportunities at home games.

Manchester United group managing director Richard Arnold said: “Since launching our partnership four years ago, Yanmar has worked with the Club to expose its brand further in new sectors and to new audiences. Like Manchester United, Yanmar is an industry leader and we are proud to be associated with a company that makes such a significant contribution to the global economy through its manufacturing expertise.
