William Hill adds Spurs to Everton as it builds pre-season betting partners

August 3 – Tottenham Hotspur have announced William Hill as their Official Betting Partner for Europe and Australia in an initial two-year deal starting with the 2016/17 season. On Monday the bookmaker announced a similar deal with Everton.

William Hill will take over the in-stadium betting services on match days as well as having a presence across Spurs’ various digital channels and on pitchside advertising boards.

The deal is not unlike that for Everton which will see William Hill offer exclusive competitions and money-can’t-buy prizes, as well as Everton specific markets. It will receive branding across the club’s LED screens and interview backdrops as well as providing an improved concourse betting experience for fans at Goodison Park.

Both agreements are for two seasons. No figure has been announced for either deal.

William Hill is headquartered in the same London Borough of Haringey as Spurs and the partnership will see William Hill invest in a community project delivered by the Club’s charitable body, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

Alex O’Shaughnessy, Chief Marketing Officer for William Hill, said: “Tottenham Hotspur is one of the most famous teams in world football and we are delighted to be entering into this new partnership. The Club’s profile will help to support our brand and business objectives and its location in Haringey gives us a unique opportunity to further demonstrate our commitment to the local area.”

With Spurs underway with a two-year rebuild of their White Hart Lane project, the emphasis on working with the local community has become increasingly important for a club that also has global ambition commercially.

Fran Jones, Head of Partnerships, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “As another Haringey-based business, we are committed to this area of north London and look forward to progressing our work through a joint community project run by our award-winning Foundation.

This was reinforced by Grant Cornwell, Chief Executive Officer, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “We’ve already successfully delivered a pilot community project in partnership with William Hill and over the course of the next two years, we will continue to develop this work to support the those living in our local community.”
