Soccerex founder Duncan Revie dies, aged 62

October 3 – Duncan Revie, son of former England manager Don Revie and founder of the Soccerex football business brand, has died aged 62 after a brief illness.

Revie founded Soccerex in 1995, hosting the first convention the following year and quickly turning his vision for bringing together the great and the good of football business and politics into a global enterprise.

Soccerex Chairman Tony Martin, who only last week went ahead with the latest Soccerex in Manchester, said: “This has come as a tremendous shock to us all.  Duncan was revered throughout the global football industry.”

In all, Soccerex has staged 39 events across five different continents, providing a networking platform for hundreds of  football’s commercial players.

“Duncan’s vision, drive and determination established the Soccerex brand in 1995,” said Martin. “It was his passion and commitment which took the conference across the globe and developed it into the world’s most influential football business networking conference. He was a most special man and football is a much poorer place without him.”
