Swansea unveil new kit and sponsors with Letou on front and Barracuda on sleeve

June 18 – Premier League Swansea City have unveiled their 2017-18 Joma kits with new main shirt sponsor LeTou, an online betting site, taking the premium sponsor slot on the front of the jersey and Barracuda Networks as one of the league’s first sleeve sponsors.

Swans Chief Operating Officer Chris Pearlman said of the new deal: “Swansea City has ambitions to grow our brand in Asia,’’ explained Pearlman, “where Letou has a strong presence and a lot of experience.

“With over a billion people likely to watch the Premier League over the course of the season, a third of the league’s total TV audience, it’s a major partnership that will benefit both parties.

“Letou has a significant global reach, including a strong market share in Asia, and is committed to helping us grow our presence in that part of the world. We believe Letou can help us tell our unique story to a global audience. The story about how we play the game our way, with ‘Grit and Beauty’.

Swansea are one of the first clubs to take advantage of the new sponsorship rules allowing sleeve branding, with the announcement of American IT company Barracuda Networks has taken the position.

No figure was announced for the deal but it is understood to come with an upgrade of the club’s IT security system.

Pearlman said: “With Barracuda now on board, not only do we have peace of mind that our network is safe, but we are also able to manage the network via a single pane of glass…Barracuda is a blue chip company in the heart of the Silicon Valley that operates throughout the world, and the type of company we want to be associated with moving forward.

Manchester City were the first Premier League club to sign a sleeve sponsorship for next season.

South Korean tyre manufacturer Nexen Tire became their Official Sleeve Partner in a multi-season deal that includes the club’s double winning women’s team. No value was announced for the sponsorship.
