Nottingham Forest given boost with Healthspan partnership

September 26 – Championship club Nottingham Forest have signed a one-year partnership with vitamins and supplements manufacturer Healthspan.

Healthspan becomes the official vitamin and supplement supplier for the 2017/18 season, and will supply both first team and Academy players.

Healthspan’s trusted athletes and partners roster includes Team Sky, Southampton FC, Scottish Rugby and the British Sailing Team. Their Elite range of products are tested by anti-doping laboratory, LGC Sports and Specialised Analytical Services for a wide range of substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA

Nathan Beardsley, Nottingham Forest First Team Sport Scientist, said: “Healthspan’s products will be used for a number of reasons, including building player strength and aiding recovery.

“Another key role will be in the prevention of player illness. A player with cold or flu can potentially miss two or three games in a week and can spread illness through the squad. You can’t underestimate the importance of illness prevention strategies in football.”

Forest are under new ownership this season that has reignited attendances as the club aim for promotion back to the Premier League. After a strong start Forest have lost four of their last five league game so a vitamin boost looks to be coming at the right time.

Chris Fisher, Healthspan’s head of sports nutrition, said: “We hope we can contribute in a small way on the club’s journey back to the Premier League.

“We’ll also be working closely with the club to find innovative and exclusive ways to positively impact the health of Forest fans.”
