Man City builds bridge over troubled water issues with Xylem partnership

July 11 – Manchester City have announced a global multi-year partnership with water technology company Xylem. The company will also partner with Man City’s sister club New York City FC and the Manchester City women’s team.

Xylem will become the club’s Official Water Technology Partner in an agreement that will see them promote awareness about global water challenges and solutions.

Damian Willoughby, Senior Vice President of Partnership at City Football Group, said: “We are delighted to announce this new partnership with Xylem. Manchester City and Xylem share a common commitment to operating in a sustainable and innovative way, whilst enhancing the lives of people in our communities around the world. We are excited to harness the global appeal of football to raise awareness of water challenges and support Xylem’s efforts to tackle these issues.”

Xylem provides various water treatment and monitoring systems designed to return water to the environment. Its products include smart metering, network technologies and advanced infrastructure analytics solutions for water, electric and gas utilities. Its “social investment platform”, Xylem Watermark, partners with global non-profit organisations to provide and protect safe water resources educate about water issues.

No monetary value was given for the deal.
