Life ban for Togolese ref Fagla for fixing international matches

March 21 – FIFA has banned Togolese referee Kokou Hougnimon Fagla for life after finding him guilty of corruption.

FIFA ruled he accepted bribes to manipulate an unspecified international friendly stemming came from FIFA’s investigation into various matches that involved notorious fixer Wilson Raj Perumal.

“The formal ethics proceedings against Mr Fagla….stemmed from an extensive investigation into various international matches that Mr Wilson Raj Perumal attempted to manipulate for betting purposes,” FIFA said.

As result Fagla has been for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level and fined $3,000.
