Beach Soccer World Wide joins with UN to promote ‘One Humanity’ message

February 6 – With the Beach Soccer Mundialito de Clubes set to kick off in Moscow next week, Beach Soccer World Wide (BSWW) has announced a new partnership with the United Nations to promote the UN Alliance Of Civilizations’campaign (UNAOC), ‘One Humanity’.

The partnership is the second announcement in a week for BSWW who have just unveiled a multi-year sponsorship with Puma who become a global sponsor.

BSWW is the officially recognised Beach Soccer partner of FIFA and organiser of the Beach Soccer World Cup. A BSWW press release said: “The world of beach soccer itself is an example of an increasingly integrated community of members from every corner of the globe, uniting different cultures, religions and origins, under the umbrella of a single shared passion: the will to be a part of the beach soccer family.”

UNAOC’s aim is to improve understanding and cooperation between nations and peoples across all cultures. Inclusivity is at the core of the One Humanity message. UNAOC will receive a package of branding and opportunities to increase its profile with BSWW and its events.

The High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Ángel Moratinos (pictured left), said: “This agreement with Beach Soccer World Wide means our first agreement within the world of sports, what means a very important step. We are already working and have established conversations to integrate other competitions, clubs and entities into our project, and I am sure we will have many more on board soon, because we strongly believe that sports are a powerful channel to spread the message.”

First stop of the year on the BSWW calendar is Moscow for the Beach Soccer version of the Club World Cup – Mundialito de Clubes. The eight-team finals will be played February 12-16.

Joan Cusco (pictured right), president of Beach Soccer World Wide, said: “As a sport, we feel very aligned with UNAOC’s vision, in that we embrace integration as key for the common growth of the human race. Our community is very heterogenous, very rich in diversity, and it is precisely what makes us global, what makes us a family. This is why we are really happy and proud to bear the One Humanity flag, and we will help it fly high within our world.”
