European Leagues launches 8-nation esports tournament

May 12 –European Leagues, the body that represents Europe’s professional leagues, is entering the esports arena with a competition that will feature eight of its national members.

Played on the EA Sports FIFA 20, each league will be represented by four players: two professional football players and/or celebrities and two professional domestic FIFA players.

Matches will consist of two games (FIFA player vs. FIFA player and professional football player/celebrity vs. professional football player/celebrity) and the combined score will determine the result of each match. Leagues will compete against each other as competition will be played as single round robin.

The Stay2Score competition will start tomorrow (Wednesday May 13) and conclude on Saturday May 23 where the semi-finals and grand final will take place.

The top divisions from Austria, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Sweden will play off. The top four of the table will advance to the semi-finals.

The tournament will be broadcast in each league’s domestic markets by local stations, European Leagues teamed-up with the leading eSports agency DreamHack Sports Games and Omnicom Group to deliver the competition.
