TikTok shirt deal gets a warm Hollywood welcome in Wrexham

June 30 – From Euro 2020 to Wrexham. TikTok has taken the shirt sponsorship of the Welsh side that plays in the fifth tier English National League but has become better known for attracting Hollywood A listers Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds as owners.

The two season deal will see TikTok emblazoned across the club shirt.

Motivation behind the TikTok deal is the recently signed Netflix deal for two seasons of a club TV series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.

Wrexham were almost going places having just missed out on a play-off at the end of the season for a spot in the English Football League’s League Two.

TikTok will be on the shirt for the two seasons of the documentary that sees the club attempt to climb back up the English professional league structure. And of course for the star power that McElhenney and Reynolds bring.

recent announcement of and narrowly missed out on a play-off for the EFL’s League Two last season, has TikTok has signed a deal to become Wrexham A.F.C.’s sponsor for the next two seasons. The globally-recognized TikTok name and logo will be emblazoned across the new shirts, and the team will be launching its official account on TikTok.

Humphrey Ker, Executive Director at Wrexham A.F.C., said: “We were blown away by the ideas that TikTok had for their partnership with the Club. The opportunity to access the full breadth of their platform creates a community-building opportunity many will envy. Our soon-to-be-launched official TikTok account will feature all those involved at the Club, including both Rob and Ryan. To have TikTok on the front of our shirts is a great coup and we are sure it will be popular among our fanbase, as well as with those who are active on TikTok.”

Wrexham was formed in 1864, is the oldest club in Wales and the third oldest professional team in the world. Wrexham has won the Welsh Cup a record 23 times. While the club’s The Racecourse Ground is the world’s oldest international stadium that still continues to host international games.

McElhenney and Reynolds have as their mission statement the objective to return the club to the English Football League in front of increased attendances, in an improved stadium, while making a positive difference to the wider community in Wrexham “This goal is being pursued through four guiding principles: i) to protect the heritage of Wrexham AFC; ii) to reinforce the values of the community; iii) to use Rob and Ryan’s resources to grow the exposure of the club at home and abroad; and iv) to create a winning culture,” said a club press release.
