November 12 – LaLiga has signed off on a new eight-season TV deal with Mexico’s Sky Sports that has reportedly doubled in value to $70 million per year.
The deal, brokered by LaLiga North America, continues to expand the league’s global presence, which includes a recent $1.4 billion deal with ESPN for US broadcasting rights.
The new agreement starts with the 2024-2025 season and will also see the Televisa-owned channel hold the rights for Central America.
“This renewal also represents an opportunity for LaLiga, as well as for LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank clubs, to continue increasing their brand presence in one of the most strategic markets in the global soccer industry,” said a LaLiga statement.
“This partnership will allow the league and its clubs to get even closer to Mexican and Central American audiences, through an operator that has a stable and existing long-term relationship with the league, that knows the product well, and has worked closely with LaLiga for the past ten years.”
