November 26 – Serie A club Napoli has agreed a back-of-shirt sponsorship with cryptocurrency token Floki which will initially take them through to the end of the season.
The Floki Inu logo, depicting a Shiba Inu dog wearing a viking helmet and inspired by Elon Musk’s dog, will be on the back of Napoli’s jerseys and across stadium LED signs, and includes a package of digital assets.
Floki Inu is already partnered with other football clubs, including the Kerala Blasters from the Indian Super League and La Liga’s Cádiz. The crytpo token has the ambition to be the “most known and most used cryptocurrency in the world”.
The Ethereum-based token was launched in June this year, and has a market capitalisation of about $1.8 billion and a$25.2 million trading volume.
Napoli’s Serena Salvione, said: “SSC Napoli and Floki have found out to share strong values and similar growth aspirations. With SSC Napoli showing our creativity in many areas, we believe this new agreement reinforces our commitment to always engage in innovative partnerships and to be on the edge of new trends and new products.”
No value was given for the deal.
