August 8 – The 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf League (SCL) will enter the knockout stages next weekend with Concacaf having confirmed the schedule for the Round of 16 two-legged match-ups.
The Concacaf League is the confederations second level club competition after the Concacaf Champions League, but is currently in its last season of play before Concacaf revamps its club competitions and schedules.
From 2023 onwards, the SCL will be replaced by three regional cup competitions that will be played in the Autumn of each year. The regional compettions will be played in Central America, the Caribbean and North America and will qualify teams for Concacaf’s expanded 27-club Champions League.
For the current SCL competition, six Preliminary Round winners have advanced to the second round, joining the 10 best ranked seeded clubs.
Quarter finals will be played in September and semi finals in early October, with the two-leg final being played end October and early November.
