Man City partners with OTT giant Jio for digital push into India

January 5 – Premier League Manchester City, whose owners City Football Group (CFG) have ambitions to expand in India, has unveiled a new regional partnership with Indian digital services company Jio Platforms.

Jio will become the club’s Official Mobile Communications Network Partner in India. The partnership was enabled and supported by RISE Worldwide, a Reliance initiative, India’s largest sports and entertainment company.

Man City’s OTT platform CITY+ will be integrated into the JioTV platform. This will give Indian fans access toexclusive club content including match highlights, live Manchester City Women’s team and Elite Development Squadfixtures, matchday content and City Studios documentaries.

Man City and Jio will combine to create a number of experiences that fans can access through Jio’s platforms, includingJioTV, MyJio, Jio STB, JioEngage and other applications and platforms.

JioTV is one of India’s leading digital video platforms providing more than 900 channels in 16 languages across 12 genres. It is the second biggest OTT platform globally with more than 350 million downloads.

(a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jio Platforms Ltd), said: “Wewill present City fans with experiences through a multitude of digitally powered immersive initiatives.
