beIN Sports completes 4-year renewal for Conmebol’s club competitions

February 14 – Qatari-based broadcaster beIN Sports has renewed its commitment to South American football, extending its licensing of broadcast rights to the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana for the MENA region in a four-year deal.

The acquisition of the broadcast rights to South America’s two premier club competitions also adds to beIN Sports’ existing coverage in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. beIN Dports has held rights to Conmebol club competitions since 2019 when they beat Fox Sports in a tender.

The agreement also covers the Recopa, the South American Supercup.

Last week, the 2023 iteration of the Copa Libertadores got under way. Next month, the Copa Sudamericana kicks off.

The deal comes on the back of BeIN’s extension of exclusive rights to both the top two club competitions in the US and Canada until 2026.

The deal was brokered by Conmebol’s commercial representative FC Diez Media.
