Copa do Brasil kicks off with Krona as first time sponsor

February 27 – The Copa do Brasil that kicked off last week, has added tubing manufacturer Krona as a sponsor in a one-season deal.

The Copa do Brasil is played as knock-out competition with 92 clubs from all the regional associations, with12 clubs entering the competition in the third round. Flamengo are the current champions.

This is the first time Krona has sponsored the Copa do Brasil and the brand will be present on pitchside LED panels and in 180 broadcast matches, divided between Rede Globo, Sportv, Premiere and Primevideo. Krona will also have brand visibility in all draws, in the players tunnel entrance and on the official social networks for the tournament.

Valdicir Kortmann, commercial and marketing vice president at Krona, said: “Due to its reach and target audience, the Copa do Brasil is a great opportunity for Krona to expand its presence through sports marketing, which has proven to be extremely efficient in strengthening the brand… This sponsorship will further strengthen our communication work with customers and the final public.”

The Copa Do Brasil winner receives Real70 million ($13.4 million) and the runner-up Real 30 million ($5.7 million).
