March 1 – Juventus have lodged an appeal against the massive 15-point penalty for false accounting related to artificially inflated transfer dealings meted out last month, according to Italian reports.
Juve had been cleared of allegations in April 2022, but new evidence that came to light with a criminal investigation carried forward by the Turin prosecutor led to the recent penalty. The new accusations also led to the resignation of the club’s entire board.
The courts released the full reasoning for the ruling on January 30 saying Juventus had “committed a sporting disciplinary offence, taking into account the seriousness and the repeated and prolonged nature of the violation.”
The club were given 30 days to appeal, which they apparently did on Tuesday.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side are currently in seventh place in Serie A as a result of the punishment.
