FIFA unveils Women’s World Cup 2023 poster collection

March 7 – The final teams have now qualified, the World Cup trophy is on tour and headed for Australia and New Zealand, and now the official poster for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 has been released.

The series of ten posters include nine bespoke Host City posters and were unveiled in pop-up-style outdoor gallery installations in Adelaide/Tarntanya and Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara, New Zealand.

The posters were released in time for International Women’s Day, and tie in with the tournament’s theme of Beyond Greatness.

The design features three strong female silhouettes symbolising the creation of positive change in women’s sports with the World Cup trophy positioned in the centre.

“The football element set in the background embraces a unifying experience for the host countries and the world,” said FIFA.

“The silhouettes of the players in the foreground depict the athleticism, skills and passion displayed in play and the joy of celebration.”

The designs of each poster form a “unified collection” highlighting landmarks and the cultures of each of the host cities.

FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura said: “With just 135 days until the tournament kicks off, this is another wonderful milestone to celebrate. These posters not only showcase the distinctive identities of our nine Host Cities across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, but also celebrate the tournament’s theme of unity with football at its core.”

The Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 kicks off July 20 with the final being played August 20.
