April 8 – World Champions Argentina, with wins over Panama and Curacao in the last international window, have returned to the top of the FIFA rankings, replacing Brazil who slipped to third behind France.
Argentina have not topped the rankings for six years. France secured their second place spot with wins over the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland in Euro 2024 qualifying.
The top 20 showed little change with no new teams breaking into the ranking though Senegal (18th, plus 1) and Denmark (19th, minus 1) swapped places.
Teams that showed progression further down the rankings included Serbia (25th, plus 4), Algeria (34th, plus 6), Egypt (35th, plus 4), and Scotland (36th , plus 6).
Romania (46th, plus 6) and Canada (47th, plus 6), move into the top 50 at the expense of Mali (53rd, minus 8) and, surprisingly, Saudi Arabia (54th, minus 5).
Central African Republic (122nd, plus 10) are the most improved side. Cameroon showed the biggest drop, losing nine places to 42nd.
European nations fill 10 of the top 20 slots in the ranking.
