Man City add Bayern Munich and Yokohama F. Marinos to pre-season Asian tour

May 16 – Manchester City has added two further pre-season fixtures to its Asian summer tour, both will be played in inTokyo.

Man City had already announced they will play Atletico Madrid in Seoul, South Korea on July 30.

Before that match they will be in Japan to face City Football Group sister club and current J.League ChampionsYokohama F. Marinos on July 23, followed by Bayern Munich on July 26.

Both fixtures will take place at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.

City last played current J.League Champions Yokohama F・M during the Club’s preseason visit to Asia in 2019,securing a 3-1 victory at the Nissan Stadium. The match against FC Bayern Munich will be a re-run of this season’s head-to-head in the Champions League Quarter-Finals.

Our Asia tour to Japan and Korea is exciting as we look to collaborate with our partners within the region to bringexciting activations to our fanbase in the countries.”

This is the current 30th anniversary year of the J.League.

Yoshikazu Nonomura, chairman of J.League, said: “I expect Yokohama F・Marinos, one of the most successful clubs in J.League, having won the J.League opening match in 1993 and five league titles including last year’s league championship, to show us a great game with their own attacking football against Manchester City that has shown the most remarkable growth in recent decades in English Premier League.
