August 29 – Concacaf has released the dates for the W Gold Cup qualifiers to be played in September, October and November and will see three teams go directly into the inaugural edition of the 12-team competition to be played February 17 – March 10, 2024 in the US.
The US are already pre-qualified alongside either Jamaica or Canada who play-off September 22 and 26 for both an Olympic 2024 spot and a W Gold Cup place.
Concacaf has split its 34 senior women’s leagues into three categories: League A comprises three groups of three, League B comprise three groups of 4, and League C 4 groups (one of four teams and three of three).
The three group winners of League A will qualify directly for the W Gold Cup while the League A group runners up and League B Group winners will qualify for the W Gold Cup preliminary round that will qualify a further three teams for the finals.
League A (nine top-ranked teams divided into three groups of three)
Group A: Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Puerto Rico.
Group B: Canada or Jamaica, Panama, and Guatemala.
Group C: Costa Rica, Haiti, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
League B (next 12 best-ranked teams divided into three groups of four teams)
Group A: Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda, Suriname, and Dominica.
Group B: El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Martinique.
Group C: Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Barbados.
League C (13 remaining teams divided into one group of four teams and three groups of three teams)
Group A: Belize, Aruba, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Bonaire.
Group B: Cuba, Saint Lucia, and Guadeloupe.
Group C: US Virgin Islands, Grenada, and Bahamas.
Group D: Curacao, Cayman Islands, and Anguilla.
