Rolling Stones Hot Lips logo to feature on Barca kit for one night only

October 20 – FC Barcelona and the Rolling Stones have signed a temporary deal that will see the band’s iconic ‘Hot Lips’ logo feature on the front of the Catalan club’s kit for El Classico on October 28.

The deal will see the logo replace usual occupier Spotify to promote Rolling Stones’ new album, Hackney Diamonds, which releases on October 20.

The music stars were pictured with the limited-edition kits as part of the announcement by the club on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday morning.

This deal marks the third occasion that music artists have found their way on to the Blaugrana’s kit, with singers Drake and Rosalia featuring on Barcelona’s El Classico outings last season as part of the multi-year deal between the club and music provider Spotify.

Rolling Stones have previously ventured into the footballing world, having partnered with French giants PSG.

Barcelona and Spotify’s partnership officially began in 2022, with the streaming service sponsoring the club’s senior shirts for the next four seasons, as well as on the kits of the club’s academy teams.

“We’re huge football fans and honoured that Spotify have brought our Tongue & Lips logo to grace the FC Barcelona shirt to celebrate the release of the Stones’ new ‘Hackney Diamonds’ album,” the Rolling Stones said.

Juli Guiu, FC Barcelona marketing vice-president, said: “Yet again our collaboration with Spotify has taken things to the next level. Bringing together two icons – The Rolling Stones logo and the Barça jersey – is a special moment for our fans around the world. Music and football form a special partnership with a long future ahead of them and we are happy to add another chapter to the story alongside Spotify.”

The club’s 99,354-seat stadium, which is undergoing redevelopment this season, was renamed Spotify Camp Nou as part of the deal. Due to redevelopment of Camp Nou, the match will be held at Estadi Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium.

Marc Hazan, head of Spotify VP Partnerships, said: “It’s an honour to feature the legendary Rolling Stones on the legendary FC Barcelona shirt. Only Spotify could bring The Rolling Stones to the global stage of El Clásico – one of the few stages they haven’t played!”

Barcelona return to league action on Sunday against Athletic Club as the team look to close the three-point gap to league leaders and arch rivals Real Madrid ahead of their clash next weekend.
