Transfer talk: Chelsea target Brighton’s Ferguson, Ten Hag wants more help from Ajax

January 12 – Chelsea are reportedly interested in Brighton’s 19-year-old Irish striker Evan Ferguson (pictured) as the blues continue their search for a long-term striker.

Brighton, who are no strangers to selling to Chelsea following highly lucrative deals for Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella in recent windows, are demanding a fee upwards of £100m for Ferguson, who has scored six goals across 19 games this season so far.

Manchester United are watching the progress of young Ajax striker Brian Brobbey as Erik Ten Hag yet again looks to dip into his former club’s talent pool.

After acquiring ex-Ajax stars Lisandro Martinez, Antony and Andre Onana in recent windows, the Dutchman has shown to be keen on returning to the Eredivisie to bolster his Red Devils squad.

Now under United’s microscope, 21-year-old Brobbey has scored eight goals and created four assists across 15 games, despite Ajax’s limp season opening which has put them 23 points off of top spot in spite of recent form.

Reports coming out of Real Madrid suggest that some senior figures at the club believe they should move for Napoli’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen over long-term target Kylian Mbappe.

The news breaks as Los Blancos’ ever-growing pursuit of Mbappe hits yet another bump in the road, with the 25-year-old Frenchman reportedly considering renewing his current deal at PSG.

With last year’s high-flying Napoli in the distant past and the club placed 9th domestically, a move for 25-year-old wantaway Osimhen could be available for a cut-price in the summer. In spite of his team’s poor form, Osimhen has still secured seven goals and two assists spanning 13 games as the Nigerian continues to impress.

Aston Villa’s 30-year-old French fullback Lucas Digne could be the latest player to switch to Saudi after Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal made contact with the defender, despite multiple reports of players, such as ex-premier league stars Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson, becoming unsettled in the Saudi Pro League. Starting all but two of Villa’s matches in their unprecedented involvement in the title race, the Frenchman has been an important cog in Emery’s system in the opening half of the season.

Olympique Lyon are looking to sign Everton wantaway Arnaut Danjuma as the player waits for the blues to make a decision on his future, just six months into his loan from parent club Villarreal.

The Dutchman, who has only played 400 minutes in the opening half of the Premier League season for Everton, could be brought to Lyon in an effort to revive their disastrous start to the season which has them placed 15th in the league, hovering just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds have signed Ola Solbakken from AS Roma. The Norwegian spent the first half of the season on loan at Olympiacos but was recalled due to lack of game time at the Greek club.
