Transfer talk: Kalvin Phillips soap opera rolls on, Chelsea add Broja to sales roster, Ramos could exit PSG

January 18 – As the Kalvin Phillips saga continues in Manchester, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have joined the race for the 28-year-old England international as the queue for the midfielder’s signature becomes increasingly bizarre.

The Spanish duo are joined by a host of Premier League clubs including Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, as well as Juventus.

Newcastle United’s pursuit of Phillips hinges on Manchester City’s asking price for a loan deal, as the magpies are determined not to overpay.

Tottenham have not given up on their pursuit of Chelsea’s England international Conor Gallagher after the blues put the 24-year-old in the shop window to raise funds in a report to stave off FFP breaches. Despite a setback in their advancements for Gallagher, Tottenham are admirers of the player and are keen to add him to their already impressive January signings roster alongside Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin.

Chelsea will ask for £50 million to part ways with 22-year-old Albania international striker Armando Broja, who has scored twice in 17 games this season. Chelsea are keen for yet a further clear out to make way for expensive new attacking additions to the squad. Broja, who returned to the club after a successful spell at Southampton when they were still in the Premier League, joins Gallagher as Cobham graduates that the club are keen to profit on.

Portugal striker Gonçalo Ramos (pictured) has been tipped for a PSG exit just six months after joining in an €65 million move from Benfica. The 22-year-old has struggled to find consistent game time in the French capital, with star striker Kylian Mbappe and new signing Randal Kolo Muani being the preferred options.

Manchester United were strongly linked with the player in the summer before picking up Danish attacker Rasmus Hojlund, and could return for the out-of-favour Portuguese to bolster their attacking options.

Arsenal are leading the race for 20-year-old Netherlands attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, who is on loan at RB Leipzig from PSG. The youngster has established himself as one of the top young talents since being loaned to the Bundesliga club, tallying 15 goals involvements in 23 games across the Bundesliga and UCL. As a result of his stellar performances, his Transfermarkt value has shot up to €70 milllion.

FC Bayern Munich have joined the race for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo as the player continues to impress. Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the 24-year-old France international.

Porto’s 31-year old Iranian international Mehdi Taremi has been added to Inter’s wish list, as the Serie A frontrunners look to capitalise on the experienced attacker’s contract expiration in the summer. The striker, who is currently with his national side in the Asian Cup, has tallied 79 goals and 42 assists since transferring to Porto for €4.7 million back in June 2020.
