Burnley and Dundee FC combine for cross-border player development alliance

January 23 – Premier League Burnley’s owners ALK Capital and Football Partners Scotland, owners of Dundee FC in the SPL, have agreed a player development partnership.

“foster a platform to engage and enhance emerging and developing talent within competitive football, while creating fresh opportunities for both clubs to pursue their shared ambitions.”

Key to those ambitions is the creation of a pipeline of players that will in turn make their clubs sustainable in the top flight.

Speaking about the partnership, Burnley FC chairman and Managing Partner of ALK Capital, Alan Pace, Burnley FC chairman and Managing Partner of ALK Capital, said: “This relationship enhances our collective strength and will bring about some fantastic opportunities for shared growth and success.

“The Scottish Premiership is an excellent proving ground to progress young and emerging talent, as well as providing a potential gateway to European competition.”

Dundee FC are currently 7th in the SPL and pushing for a European club competition spot next season.

A statement from the clubs said that their “strategic alliance will also see both clubs work together on shared initiatives to support local communities”.

Dundee FC chairman, Tim Keyes, said: “We are incredibly excited to begin this partnership with ALK Capital and Burnley Football Club, which will support our continued pursuit of sporting excellence. Like ourselves, Burnley is a club that is deeply rooted within its community, and which shares our ambitions.

“Joining forces with a club of this stature is a real statement of intent and one which we hope will support our journey towards greater heights in the future.”
