SIGA boss de Medeiros picks up B20 and EU sport integrity roles

February 9 – Former European Leagues CEO turned sport integrity guru Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros (pictured right), has picked up two new roles within the B20 Brazil and the European Commission.

Currently SIGA Global CEO and Chairman and CEO of SIGA Latin America, his additional appointments will reinforce the increased importance of sport integrity within public bodies and expand SIGA’s global influence in promoting integrity and transparency in sport.

Now a member of the B20 Brazil Integrity & Compliance Task Force, it will be his fourth consecutive year of involvement with the B20.

The Integrity & Compliance Task Force actively leads discussion and encourages policy making around anti-corruption measures, ethical business practices, compliance with regulations, and the promotion of corporate governance. The focus of the body is on the promotion of accountability and ethical behaviour.

Within the European Union, de Medeiros has been invited by the European Commission Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union to serve as a designated representative.

He, and SIGA, will contribute on financial integrity in sport to the Supra-National Risk Assessment (SNRA) process, which aims to evaluate and mitigate risks related to money laundering and terrorist financing within the European Union.
