Just Eat agrees renews UEFA sponsorship for new 3-year cycle

February 12 – UEFA has announced that long-term partners Just Eat have renewed their sponsorship of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League until 2027.

The three-year agreement for the 2024–27 competition cycle will also include sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League and UEFA Futsal Champions League.

No value was given for the deal.

Having first established an agreement in 2020, Just Eat have already sponsored 11 different UEFA competitions including UEFA Women’s EURO, the UEFA Women’s Champions League and women’s youth tournaments.

The sponsorship will involve continued collaborations on initiatives including sustainable practices at UEFA matches through the Champions Innovate scheme, which looks to reduce the use of single-use plastic through seaweed-lined packaging.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said: “We are thrilled to continue our dynamic partnership with Just Eat Takeaway.com  as the official food delivery partner of UEFA’s men’s club competitions… We will also continue joint initiatives in support of UEFA’s mission to make our events and matches more sustainable and environmentally friendly.”

Susan O’Brien, vice president of brand at Just Eat Takeaway.com, said: “Football and food delivery are a perfect match. We are very proud to partner with UEFA, as it gives us a unique opportunity to engage with football fans who can order their favourite food directly from our local platforms… The partnership continues to deliver fantastic results for our brand, driving visibility, recognition and positive perceptions of Just Eat Takeaway.com across our markets globally.”

The UEFA Champions League enters its knockout phase in midweek with most of the ties already having strong favourites to progress. The most exciting affair, which pits Serie A holders Napoli against La Liga champions Barcelona, has been saved until last with the first leg kicking off on February 21.

Tomorrow will see holders Manchester City take on Copenhagen whilst 14-time Champions Real Madrid travel to RB Leipzig.
