February 19 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has launched the first-ever AFC Social Responsibility Toolkit as part of its ‘long-standing commitment’ to bring about beneficial change by ‘harnessing the power of football’.
The Toolkit, the first of its kind to be developed by the AFC, is designed specifically for the AFC’s Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) to build capacities in delivering impactful Social Responsibility (SR) programmes.
Within the framework of the AFC’s objectives outlined in its Social Responsibility Strategy, the Toolkit serves as a practical manual for the formulation of comprehensive Social Responsibility (SR) programmes.
It offers guidance from the initial stages of conceptualisation to the development of a complete proposal in order to aid the successful creation and implementation of these programmes.
AFC Social Responsibility Committee Chairperson Zaw Zaw said: “As an extension of the AFC Social Responsibility Strategy 2023-2027, this Toolkit aims to enrich and empower our MAs and RAs, regardless of their size or stature, to institute a more meaningful methodology in the delivery of our life changing programmes all across the Continent.
“From the ideation and conceptualisation stage to the implementation and review phase, the breakthrough Toolkit represents the AFC’s desire not only to work in closer partnership with our MAs and RAs, but also in elevating their capabilities in the long term.”
The AFC has stressed its commitment to drive positive change throughout Asia by strengthening and empowering MAs and RAs to administer and deliver programmes of high quality and impact – a mission which the toolkit aims to simplify.
“This initiative reinforces our belief to never leave desired outcomes to chance,” added Zaw Zaw. “Through purposeful design and the meticulous measures outlined in this Toolkit, we want to create the best possible environment to ensure our collective success.
“There is no denying the incredible progress the AFC, MAs and RAs have made together, and as we mark yet another milestone on our shared journey through this Toolkit, I am confident we will deliver more transformative programmes that will continue to leave a profound impact on our future generations in the years and decades to come.”
