EFL agrees new distribution deals with Pitch and Relevent

March 6 – EFL clubs have given the green light to a new international TV rights agreements, collaborating with Pitch International and Relevent Sports to promote EFL broadcast sales and competitions worldwide for the next four years.

Under the terms of the agreement, Pitch International will handle the broadcast distribution of EFL rights in Europe, MENA, and the bulk of the rest of the world, building on a 15-year-long partnership.

Relevent Sports will carve out the broadcast distribution for North, Central, and South America. They will also work via a marketing partnership with the EFL to enhance the profile of member clubs in the Americas.

The values of the deals were not disclosed, but reportedly represent record guaranteed international rights fees.

Under the terms of the agreements, Pitch will distribute a total of 155 exclusive Sky Bet Championship matches, 38 League One and Two matches, all Play-Off matches, all Carabao Cup matches, and three Bristol Street Motor Trophy matches. The deal also includes a more extensive rights package for betting platforms.

Relevent Sports will market all Sky Bet EFL matches, all Play-Off matches, all Carabao Cup matches, and three Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches alongside holding exclusive betting rights throughout the US.

EFL chief executive Trevor Birch said: “These new agreements represent not only guaranteed levels of revenue but also present the League and our 72 Clubs with a fantastic opportunity to establish further the EFL as a premium football brand in markets across the world.”

EFL clubs will continue offering international streaming directly to fans overseas if the matches are not exclusively broadcast.
