Aston Villa agree £40m Betano deal taking them to deadline for end of betting sponsorships

March 27 – Betano has been named the new shirt sponsor of Premier League Aston Villa in a two-year deal worth £20 million per season.

The agreement with the online sports betting platform based in Greece, is double the amount of the club’s current shirt sponsorship with Chinese online gaming firm BK8.

With Premier League clubs having until the start of the 2026-27 season to conclude shirt sponsorships with betting companies, the Betano deal will take Villa right to the deadline.

Betano’s logo will be on the new adidas kit for the 2024/25 season. The club ended its deal with Castore early to switch to adidas, 7% owned by Villa owner Nassef Sawiris.

Betano has a number of betting sponsorships in football. In 2022 it agreed a license with FIFA to use the 2022 World Cup marks and logos. It is also the betting partner for Euro 2024.

In Brazil it holds the naming rights to the Copa do Brasil as well as being the betting partner of Brazil’s Serie B. It recently extended its naming rights to the Romanian Cup.

The Aston Villa deal is its first in the Premier League.

Aston Villa are currently in fourth place in the Premier League, and in a qualifying place for the 2024-25 Champions League.
