Capelli lands league-wide USL Super League kit deal

May 17 – The USL Super League have announced a new long-term, league wide uniform and apparel partnership with Capelli Sport, as the league expands its portfolio of brand partners as it establishes itself as tier one women’s professional league in the US.

Set for its inaugural kickoff in August, the USL Super League was licensed by the US federation earlier this year and will provide competition for the NWSL, which currently holds the majority of USWNT stars.

The league has already built a firm partnership roster, adding data provider Stats Perform/Opta Sports, ticketing tech platform SeatGeek, and global sports betting and technology platform SportRadar in recent weeks.

Capelli have built a strong footprint in grassroots soccer across the country, but this deal takes them to a new level.

“Like the USL Super League, Capelli Sport is building something unique and special in the marketplace, and we’re proud to partner with a company that shares a collective vision of innovation and growing the women’s game,” said USL Super League President Amanda Vandervort.

No value was given for the deal which will see the league launch with an initial eight clubs.

“We’re excited to work hand in hand with Capelli Sport to bring women’s professional soccer closer to home starting this August.”

League wide deals are common in US sports. Nike is currently the kit supplier for the NWSL in deal which runs until 2030, and was the league’s biggest sponsorship deal to date when it was announced in November 2021. Nike have been the NWSL’s kit partner since the league launched in 2012.

“We are incredibly excited to announce this multi-year partnership between Capelli Sport and the USL Super League. It is important for us to support the growth of women’s soccer here in the US, and what better way than being a part of the launch of the newest first division pro women’s league,” said Capelli Sport Senior Manager of US Pro/Am and League Partnerships, Andrew Ross. “We can’t wait to reveal the inaugural kits for our partner teams in the coming weeks, and continue to support the league and its clubs as they kick off this August.”
