November 11 – With the Caribbean Cup and Central American Cup winners completing the line-up for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup this month, Concacaf has released draw details for its top club competition, which is now entering its 60th edition.
The draw in Miami on December 10, will outline the paths for 27 elite clubs.
Mexico’s Liga MX heavyweights Club America (seven times winners), Guadalajara, and Cruz Azul have all qualified, while from the MLS Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami FC joins California’s LAFC and LA Galaxy.
While the Mexican clubs have dominated Concacaf’s blue riband club event in recents year – Pachuca are current champions while Mexican clubs have won 18 of the last 20 editions – the MLS has qualified for teams for 2025 with eight, against LigaMX’s six.
Costa Rica’s Alajuelense and Herediano round out a strong mix of qualified teams.
Kicking off in February, the tournament will retain its knockout-stage format with five rounds: Round One, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and a decisive single-leg Final on June 1. Rounds up to the Semifinals will be contested over two legs.
