Roma double up with Ivan Juric second manager to be sacked this season

November 11 – Before the season is even halfway through, Roma have sacked not one but two coaches after Ivan Juric was shown the door at the famed Italian club in the wake of a 3-2 home defeat to Bologna on Sunday.

Juric replaced the hugely popular Daniele De Rossi, a former Roma playing idol, in September but hasn’t been able to turn the club’s fortunes around with the Giallorossi in 12th place and only four points above the relegation zone – their worst start in 20 years.

“We would like to thank Ivan Juric for his hard work these past weeks,” Roma said in a statement. “He handled a difficult environment with the utmost professionalism, and for that we are grateful. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

“The search for a new head coach has already begun and we expect an announcement in the coming days.”

Claudio Ranieri and Roberto Mancini have been linked as possible replacements while reports suggest De Rossi, who is still under contract with the club, could be rehired, all adding to a season of crisis for American owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin.

De Rossi had originally been appointed last January to replace Jose Mourinho and impressed so much during the second half of last season that he was given a contract extension in June through 2026-27.

But after he was shown the door, CEO and general manager Lina Souloukou resigned when fans blamed her for De Rossi’s departure.
