Sorare extends NFT player card deal with AS Monaco

April 30 – AS Monaco and Sorare are sticking together through 2027, extending their partnership in the fast-moving world of digital collectibles and fantasy football.

The Ligue 1 side, one of the earlier adopters of the Sorare platform, will continue offering officially licensed digital player cards for at least two more seasons. These cards – non-fungible tokens (NFTs) tied to real-world player performances – let users build fantasy squads and compete for prizes on Sorare’s global platform, which now boasts over 5 million registered users and licensing deals with more than 300 clubs and leagues.

For Monaco, the extension is another marker of its growing digital ambitions. While the club isn’t shouting about numbers, the Sorare partnership provides steady brand exposure among a young, tech-forward audience – not just in France, but globally. It’s also a relatively low-risk play in a volatile but potentially high-upside space, where blockchain, gaming, and football continue to overlap.

Sorare is continuing to lock down long-term relationships with clubs as it seeks to consolidate its market position amid tightening crypto regualtion and increased competition in fantasy sports. The Monaco renewal signals continued buy-in from the European football establishment at least among clubs willing to ride out the digital wave.

Nicolas Julia, co-founder and CEO of Sorare: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with AS Monaco, an iconic club that shares our vision of innovation and closeness to the fans. This renewal until 2027 is a testament to the mutual trust we have built, and to our shared desire to evolve the football experience in the digital age.”

Thibaut Chatelard, Marketing & Revenue Director of AS Monaco: “We’re thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Sorare, a fast-growing company that has established itself as the world champion of fantasy sports. We share the same ambition of offering fans of football and new technologies the best possible digital experiences. That’s why we’ve decided to continue to put our respective sense of innovation at their service until 2027.”
